Terms of service

Last updated 25 August 2026

JobAlong prepares your job search — it finds roles, drafts materials, and tracks everything. You send. The service never applies, emails, or messages anyone on your behalf, and cannot: it holds no permission to. Everything it drafts is yours to check before it goes out.

01The agreement

These terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY] (“we”, “JobAlong”). By signing in, you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a contract where you live.

02What the service does

JobAlong is a job-search assistant. It sources roles, verifies that the postings are live, drafts tailored application materials and outreach, reads your email metadata to notice replies, and keeps a record of your pipeline.

It is a tool, not an agent acting for you, and not a recruiter. It makes no guarantee that you will receive interviews or offers.

03The never-send guarantee

JobAlong will never send an email, submit an application, or contact anyone on your behalf. It requests no permission that would let it, and we will not add one. Every draft it prepares is presented to you to review, edit, and send yourself.

This is a commitment about the design of the product, not a preference setting. If it ever ceases to be true, it will require your explicit, separate consent — and it will be announced, not slipped into a release.

04Your responsibilities

JobAlong drafts; you are the author of anything you send. In particular:

  • Check every claim before you send it. The service includes a linter that flags claims not backed by facts you have approved, but the final responsibility for the accuracy of your application materials is yours.
  • Keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Only import contact data you are entitled to hold, and use it in a way that respects the recipients.
  • Do not use the service to spam, harass, misrepresent your experience, or break the terms of any job board or professional network you use alongside it.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent its limits, or access another user’s data.

05Your content

Your résumé, facts, drafts, and pipeline remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, process it, and send the relevant parts to the providers listed in the privacy policy.

We claim no ownership of anything you write or anything the service drafts for you, and we will not use your content to train models. If you connect your own ChatGPT account, the content sent to OpenAI is governed by your agreement with them — see the privacy policy.

06Availability and change

The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uptime. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice and a working export of your data.

JobAlong depends on Google, on its model providers (Anthropic, and OpenAI if you connect your own account — a path OpenAI does not formally document for third-party products, so it may stop working without notice from either of us), and on third-party job sources. When they change or become unavailable, parts of the service may stop working until we adapt.

07Price

The service is currently free to use. We expect to charge for it eventually. If we do, we will give you notice before any charge applies, and you will never be billed without agreeing first.

08Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and complete.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks clause 4, or where we are required to by law. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first.

09Liability

JobAlong assists with a job search; it does not run one for you, and it does not give legal, financial, immigration, or career advice. We are not liable for hiring outcomes, for the accuracy of third-party job listings, or for anything you choose to send.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, while the service is free, is nothing. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

10Changes, and the law that applies

We will post any change to these terms here and, for changes that matter, tell you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.

These terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION], and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
